Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Out-of-School Youth

 

The Alliance for Business and Training (AB&T), in coordination with the Northeast TN Workforce Development Board (NETWDB), announces the release of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding to organizations providing youth and young adult workforce development services in Carter, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington counties in Local Workforce Development Area -1, in Northeast Tennessee, with the possible expansion of services to include Hancock, Hawkins, and Greene counties. Service area will be finalized in contract development.

 

Request for Proposals (RFP) purpose: to identify and fund organizations that will design innovative programming and comprehensive services that result in out-of-school youth and young adults (OSY), ages 18-24, achieving academic and employment success. This procurement action will award a single or multiple contracts to be allocated for work experience and related activities. The award period is June 26, 2018 – June 30, 2019. This amount is based upon anticipated available funding.  Final determination of funding, service levels, and service area will be determined during contract development. WIOA gives priority of funds to paid and unpaid work experiences that have as a component academic and occupational education, which may include summer employment opportunities and other employment opportunities available throughout the program year, including, but not limited to, pre-apprenticeship programs, internships and job shadowing, and on-the-job training opportunities to out of school youth.

 

NETWDB/AB&T will evaluate all proposals submitted by the time and date indicated below and will competitively award contracts to OSY providers whose submissions are most responsible and responsive to this solicitation.
